Full-Time Outside Sales

Job Title:  Wholesale Lighting Distribution – Outside Sales

Type:  Full-Time (~40 hrs / week)

Compensation: Competitive – weighted towards commission/performance

Location: Primarily San Francisco, but also the entire Bay Area. Home sales office is San Francisco. Remote work is an option.

Company Description: Company is long-established and leading independent wholesale distributor of lighting products to government and commercial customers primarily in the Bay Area.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include assisting the company with the following:

  • Service existing accounts daily, including a large number of municipal customers within the City and County of San Francisco. Pursue new bid oppts/volume growth.

  • Aggressively identify and pursue new bid/customer opportunities outside of existing customer base through cold call, networking and e-bid applications.

  • Provide technical guidance and assistance to municipal customers and commercial contractors regarding product and lighting applications.

  • Develop long-term strategic customer relationships with key decision makers in municipal customer and commercial contractor segments.

  • Develop strong product and customer working relationships with vendor/vendor reps. 

  • Manage vendor/vendor rep resources for solution design and customer support as required.



  • Excellent communication skills

  • Proven prospecting skills in an outside sales environment

  • Proven ability to expand networks and develop effective working relationships

  • Minimum 3 Years Lighting or Electrical Sales Experience targeting contractors and municipal/commercial customer preferred

  • Ability to quickly learn and product knowledge

  • Proven ability to close new deals

  • Good team player
